This illustrated poster for Smile 2 was quite a challenge. Although I had a few days to think and refine the idea, the execution had to be done in just two days (from draft to finalization). It was risky because if something wasn't developed properly, the whole concept would fall apart. In short, it was a fun adrenaline rush.

Since Naomi Scott's character is a singer and performer, the idea of ​​representing a dance studio mirror in the piece came up right away. And from there, began the journey to simulate a smile when the poster is seen from a distance, mainly through shadow and lighting. One important thing to keep in mind was that, although it was possible to identify the smile, this point could not influence the fluidity of the character's drawing too much, maintaining a certain dynamism, which was probably the most challenging part of doing it within a short deadline.

Finally, even though it wasn't part of the initial idea, showing only the version of the character in the mirror with a smile on her face stamped the duality of the piece and gave the project a final touch.
