A Ordem Secreta Book Cover Illustration by Kerisson Wemerson

Managing to focus the eye amidst so many “characters” and information was the biggest challenge of ‘A Ordem Secreta’. Especially because it is a YA adventure, which demands attractive coloring to capture the reader’s attention on the bookshelf or online store. The way I found to do this was to “monochromatize” the bad guys, but with lighter tones, thus allowing me to maintain a low variation in the palette of the main characters with a slightly more accentuated saturation. In addition, the “lawn” acted as a breather for the design, making the characters’ protagonism in the scene even more evident.
